Sustainability

At Alison Miles Couture, sustainability isn’t an add-on—it’s how we work. Here’s how we stay kind to the planet—and true to our values.

Locally Made, Supporting British Craftsmanship

All our garments are designed and made in Bath, England. By keeping everything local, we reduce transport emissions and support our community. We source our materials—including fabrics and covered buttons—from within the UK , championing local industries and traditional makers.

Waste-Free Design

We make a toile (a mock-up of the garment) before creating the final piece, reducing wasted fabric from unnecessary prototypes. In addition, scrap fabrics can be turned into accessories such as scrunchies or to decorate the bride’s flowers. This is a perfect keepsakes with a story, and an elegant way to minimise waste.

Timeless Over Trend

Our occasion wear is designed to last. Many of our pieces are worn and treasured for decades, often passed onto the next generation, becoming part of family histories.

Natural Fabrics, Gentle Impact

We work primarily with fabrics that have natural fibres such as silk, cotton, or linen. These materials not only feel beautiful to wear—they also break down more easily, unlike synthetic fabrics, which can linger in landfills for many decades.

Reviving the Old

We offer services to remodel vintage garments, giving pre-loved pieces a fresh, modern life whilst honouring their original charm.

Dead stock, On Request

We’re happy to work with dead stock fabric—so no new resources are needed to create your dream outfit or wedding dress.

Woman-Owned & Values-Led

As a woman-owned business, we’re proud to build a brand rooted in care, creativity, and responsibility.
